At Apollo Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, we practice trenchless services that allow us to rehabilitate pipes from the inside. Whether the pipes beneath your home or business in Oregon or Washington are burst or flooding, we have the methods and equipment needed to mitigate damage and replace the pipes quickly.
Pipe replacements were traditionally processes associated with heavy excavation efforts that could require weeks to plow and dig before any repairs could be made. Fortunately, trenchless technology allows us to bypass these inconvenient steps in favor of better, more reliable, and fast solutions.
Our sewer inspection team can also help detect leaks in underground water lines, preventing water buildup around your home and increasing water bills. Our teams use advanced video cameras to pinpoint leaks in your system, allowing us to provide you with accurate, cost-efficient solutions. Once we have the results, our solutions will depend on the results of our inspection, but we guarantee that our work will be able to address the problem.
After the hole has been drilled, the new pipe is pulled through it and installed. Specialized drilling fluids in the process stabilize the surrounding soil and ensure that it doesn’t shift following the installation of the pipe.
As a result, trenchless pipe bursting is the process of replacing existing pipelines without needing to physically remove those pipelines. It’s used most frequently with exceptionally brittle pipes, such as those made from clay or concrete, but can be applied to a diversity of sizes, materials, and uses. Bursting can also be utilized to increase the size of pipelines, improving water flow and pressure. This makes the process very flexible and reliable, ensuring that repairs can be done no matter what the problem may be or how severe it is.
Through one access point, our cone-shaped bursting head is inserted into the existing pipeline. The bursting head’s diameter is larger than the pipeline’s diameter, allowing it to effectively break it apart.
The bursting head is forced through the pipe, and the extra pressure on the host pipe will cause it to split open and fragment the old pipe. This allows the bursting head to create space for the new pipeline we install to fill.
Immediately following the bursting head, the new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is simultaneously pulled into the cavity, filling the new space. Once the HDPE pipe is in place, the two access points are filled.
The pipe bursting process is eco-friendly because it doesn’t require invasive digging.
This allows the repair process to be faster, and with the installation of the powerful and durable HDPE pipe, we can guarantee that the results will be long-lasting, in addition to having many other benefits, including:
- Resistant to chemicals
- The plastic materials are recyclable
- Lightweight material, easy to work with and mold
- A durable plastic that lasts many years, resistant to leaks and cracks
Weather resistant
